Product Specification

SN-4 INVERTED CONE PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR – ¼” shank

SN-4 inverted cone burrs are great for rear side chamfering, edge milling and machining on hard-to-reach areas. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance.

Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs tend to be used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, and also for all non-metal materials such as stone, plastics, hard wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs will leave a slightly smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips as they cut away the material. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is the most popular cut and will see you through most applications.

  • Other Materials – Fiberglass, Plastic, Hard Rubber, Wood, Stone
  • Great for making V-cuts and rear side chamfering and edge milling

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on. If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application. Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Christopher ★★★★★

The ¼” shank fits my rotary tool perfectly and the inverted cone shape makes rear side chamfering way easier than my old straight burr. Cut through some stubborn edge milling without bogging down, and it still looks barely worn.

Daniel ★★★★★

Used this inverted cone burr for some rear side chamfering on aluminum and it left a much cleaner edge than my standard bits. The tungsten carbide holds up well through several passes without any noticeable dulling. Definitely a solid upgrade for detail work.

Ella O. ★★★★★

The ¼” shank fits my rotary tool perfectly, and the inverted cone shape made rear side chamfering on those tight edges way easier than I expected. Cuts through mild steel with good smoothness, no binding so far.
