SL-4 NF TAPER SHAPE - RADIUS PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR– ¼” shank

SL-4 NF Taper shape burrs (also called conical ball nose burrs) are great for narrow contours, surface machining and getting at rounded edge and surface processing in small places. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance.

Aluminum cut carbide burrs tend to be used on non-ferrous metals likealuminum, copper, zinc alloys and magnesiumas well as for non-metal materials such as plastics, hard rubber, and some woods. These carbide burrs are specially designed for fast stock removal of soft material without loading. Design allows chips to flow out of the flutes. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on.  If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application.  Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work.  Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Julian S. ★★★★★

Took a chance on this taper shape burr for some metal grinding, and the ¼" shank was exactly what I needed. Cut through aluminum like butter with a smooth, consistent finish.

Chloe Z. ★★★★★

The ¼" shank fits perfectly into my rotary tool, and this taper shape glides through aluminum like butter without grabbing.

Julian ★★★★★

Finally got a proper conical ball nose burr that doesn't chatter on my die grinder—this one's ¼” shank fits snug and the cut is noticeably smoother than my old set.
