SG-3L POINTED TREE SHAPE PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR– ¼” shank

SG-3LPointed tree shape burrs are great for processing small places, acute angled contour and sharp angled areas. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance. The extended 6” shaft length is ideal for hard-to-reach deburring applications.

Double cut or Cross cut carbide burrs tend to be used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft steel, and also for all non-metal materials such as stone, plastics, hard wood, and ceramic. Double cut burrs will leave a slightly smoother finish than single cut due to producing smaller chips as they cut away the material. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning. A double-cut carbide burr is the most popular cut and will see you through most applications.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on.  If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application.  Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work.  Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Ruby ★★★★★

The ¼” shank fits my Dremel perfectly, and the pointed tip lets me get into tight corners on my metal engraving project without any wobble.

Avery Q. ★★★★★

I’ve been using this pointed tree shape burr for cleaning up welds in tight corners, and the ¼” shank holds steady without any wobble. The tungsten carbide cuts through hardened steel faster than my old bits, and it’s held its edge after several hours of work.

Amelia ★★★★★

The pointed tip on this burr reaches into tight spots my other bits couldn't get to, and the tungsten carbide cuts through steel smoothly without any chatter. It’s holding up well after a few hours of work, definitely worth the upgrade.
