SD-3NF BALL SHAPE PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR– ¼” shank

SD-3NF ball shape burrs are great for deburring, contouring, rounded edge processing and removing build-up before welding preparations. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance.

Aluminum cut carbide burrs tend to be used on non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, zinc alloys and magnesium as well as for non-metal materials such as plastics, hard rubber, and some woods. These carbide burrs are specially designed for fast stock removal without loading. Design allows chips to flow out of the flutes. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning.

  • Ball Shape burrs are great for interior contour work, hole/bore deburring, and milling.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on. If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application. Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Kevin L. ★★★★★

I was worried about the burr heating up on extended use, but the cut stays smooth and it doesn’t load up like cheaper bits. Perfect for rounding out those tight edges.

Nicholas S. ★★★★★

The ¼” shank fits perfectly in my die grinder and the ball shape makes quick work of smoothing out rough edges on aluminum. It cuts through material without grabbing or chattering. Definitely glad I picked this up for my deburring projects.

Brian ★★★★★

The ¼” shank fits my die grinder perfectly, and this ball shape makes quick work of deburring rounded edges. I've used it on several aluminum parts already and it cuts smoothly without grabbing.
