SB-3NF CYLINDER SHAPE END CUT PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR– ¼” shank

SB-3NF cylinder shape burrs are great for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling as well as finishing right angle corners. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance.

Aluminum cut carbide burrs tend to be used on non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, zinc alloys and magnesium as well as for non-metal materials such as plastics, hard rubber, and some woods. These carbide burrs are specially designed for fast stock removal without loading. Design allows chips to flow out of the flutes. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on. If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application. Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Customer Reviews (4.8 / 5 · 5 reviews)

Emily ★★★★★

I needed a carbide burr for some precision interior work on a steel bracket, and this cylinder shape made the recessed cuts far cleaner than my old bits. The cut quality is impressive, and it hasn't shown any wear after several uses.

Emma ★★★★★

The ¼" shank fits my rotary tool perfectly, and the cylinder shape made short work of smoothing out some tight interior corners on an aluminum piece. Cuts through material with almost no effort, though I wish it came with a storage case.

Penelope R. ★★★★★

Used it for deburring some aluminum extrusions and the ¼” shank held firm in my die grinder with zero chatter. The cylinder shape really digs into tight corners without hogging off too much material.
