GRAY STAINLESS BUFFING COMPOUND - USA MADE

Our  USA made gray stainless buffing compound is a versatile cut-and-color compound designed for stainless steel, steel, and other ferrous metals. It provides moderate to substantial cutting action to reduce surface imperfections while simultaneously brightening the metal and restoring its natural luster.

Gray Stainless works well as a general-purpose polishing compound or as the middle step after a more aggressive cutting compound. For best results, use with a firm spiral-sewn buffing wheel and follow with a finer finishing compound when a higher-gloss finish is desired.

Tip: Use Gray Stainless after a heavier cutting compound when significant surface correction is required, or use it alone as a versatile cut-and-color compound for general polishing. For a brighter final finish, clean the workpiece and follow with a finer polishing compound on a separate wheel.

Safety Tips/techniques:

  • Bring the compound to a spinning buffing wheel to transfer the compound onto the wheel.
  • Use a dedicated buffing wheel for each compound and clean the workpiece between polishing stages.
  • Follow the compound SDS and machine instructions. Wear appropriate eye/face and hearing protection, and use respiratory protection when required. Keep guards in place, secure the workpiece, and keep loose clothing, jewelry, hair, and gloves away from rotating parts.

Harper ★★★★★

Finally, a compound that actually lives up to its name for stainless. The cut-and-color action is smooth and even, leaves a mirror finish without much elbow grease. I've tried cheaper bars that left haze, this one didn't.

Sebastian O. ★★★★★

Applied some to an old scratched-up baking sheet and was surprised how quickly the gray compound brought back a consistent finish. The cut-and-color action saved me from buying a replacement pan.

Elizabeth T. ★★★★★

Took a tarnished stainless steel pot from the 90s and brought it back to life with this compound, the gray color really blends as it cuts. It's made in the USA and the fine grit leaves a mirror finish without any scratching.
