Product Specification

SN-51NF INVERTED CONE PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR – 1/8” Shank

SN-51NF inverted cone burrs are great for rear side chamfering, edge milling and machining on hard-to-reach areas. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance.

Aluminum cut carbide burrs tend to be used on non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, zinc alloys and magnesium as well as for non-metal materials such as plastics, hard rubber, and some woods. These carbide burrs are specially designed for fast stock removal without loading. Design allows chips to flow out of the flutes. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning.

Machines Used On:

  • Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders

Application:

  • Non-Ferrous Materials – Aluminum, Copper, Zinc alloys, Magnesium
  • Other Materials – Plastic, Hard Rubber, Soft Wood
  • Cylinder Shape burrs are great for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
  • Widely used for metalwork, toolmaking, engineering, model engineering, wood carving, jewelry making, welding, chamfering, casting, deburring, grinding, cylinder head porting, and sculpting.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on.  If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application.  Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work.  Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Claire ★★★★★

The inverted cone shape works perfectly for deburring the backside of holes in brass, and the 1/8” shank fits my rotary tool without any wobble.

Sophia ★★★★★

I was pleasantly surprised by how cleanly this burr cuts through aluminum—the inverted cone makes chamfering the back side of holes a breeze. It's a solid upgrade from my old standard bits.

Charlotte K. ★★★★★

The inverted cone shape is exactly what I needed for chamfering the back side of holes my regular burrs couldn't reach. Tungsten carbide cuts through mild steel like butter and the 1/8" shank fits my die grinder perfectly. Zero chatter, and it's still sharp after a full afternoon of use.
