Product Specification

SG-51NF POINTED TREE SHAPE PREMIUM TUNGSTEN CARBIDE BURR – 1/8” Shank

SG-51NF Pointed tree shape burrs are great for processing small places, acute angled contour and sharp angled areas. Due to the extreme hardness of this tungsten carbide, it can be used on much more demanding jobs than HSS (High-Speed Steel). These carbide burrs are made of tungsten carbide burr die grinder bits and will start to soften at higher temperatures, so carbide is always the best choice for long-term performance.

Aluminum cut carbide burrs tend to be used on non-ferrous metals like aluminum, copper, zinc alloys and magnesium as well as for non-metal materials such as plastics, hard rubber, and some woods. These carbide burrs are specially designed for fast stock removal without loading. Design allows chips to flow out of the flutes. Use for medium stock removal, deburring, finishing, and cleaning.

Machines Used On:

  • Die Grinders and hand-held pneumatic grinders

Application:

  • Non-Ferrous Materials – Aluminum, Copper, Zinc alloys, Magnesium
  • Other Materials – Plastic, Hard Rubber, Soft Wood
  • Cylinder Shape burrs are great for interior contour work like peripheral and face milling.
  • Widely used for metalwork, toolmaking, engineering, model engineering, wood carving, jewelry making, welding, chamfering, casting, deburring, grinding, cylinder head porting, and sculpting.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

  • Tool speed will be determined by the material you are using your burr on.  If you are experiencing chipping, you are most likely operating at too high of speed for the application.  Start with a slower speed and increase as you go along until you achieve the best results
  • Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work.  Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life and a dull burr.
  • Always wear proper PPE to include (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection.  Keep all guards in place on your machine.
  • Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.

Alexander ★★★★★

This burr fit my dremel perfectly right out of the box, and the pointed tree shape lets me carve into tight corners without any trouble. Cuts through steel like butter, and the 1/8" shank stays secure even under heavy pressure.

Henry ★★★★★

Finally got this for some detailed carving work, and the 1/8” shank fits my rotary tool perfectly without any wobble. The pointed tree shape makes it easy to reach tight spots, and the tungsten carbide cuts through wood like butter. I'm very happy with how clean the finish is.

Joseph ★★★★★

The pointed tip on this burr gets into tight corners way better than my old rounded ones, and the carbide cuts through steel without slowing down. The 1/8" shank fits my rotary tool perfectly, so it's been my go-to for small detail work all week.
