The 4-1/2" x 4" Nonwoven Surface Conditioning Drum from Benchmark Abrasives is designed for controlled metal finishing where consistency and surface quality take priority. Rather than aggressive stock removal, this drum focuses on smoothing, blending, and preparing metal surfaces for downstream finishing or polishing steps.

With a wide 4-inch working face, the drum increases coverage on flat and contoured surfaces alike, reducing the number of passes needed on larger components. It is commonly used for light oxidation removal, surface blending, satin finishing, and final-stage conditioning before buffing or coating operations.

Safety Tips & Techniques:

• Apply light pressure and let the tool do the work. Bearing down on the tool will result in reduced tool life.
• Always wear proper PPE, including (but not limited to) safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, and hand protection. Keep all guards in place on your machine.
• Avoid use on electric power drills; the slower speeds can result in chipping of your workpiece.
