1" FORSTNER BIT

Benchmark Abrasives 1" Forstner Bits are MADE IN USA.  Precision ground from one solid piece of heat-treated, heavy duty carbon steel, these bits can drill flat bottomed holes without splintering and are ideal for making holes in plywood and MDF board. This drill bit can create the pocket and grommet holes, countersinking screws, and drilling out knots in the wood. It features a sharp center spur that accurately locates the center of the hole.  The double cavity efficiently removed chips, debris, plugs and reduces heat.

Forstner Bits are an important tool for many hardware installations where a specific depth of the hole is required. The Forstner bit is guided by the wide outside rim of the bit whereas the drill bits are guided by the tip. These bits are the perfect choice to produce flat bottomed holes. It can drill a flat-bottomed hole, making them a necessary tool for many hardware installations where a precise depth of mortise is required. They are optimized for woodworking applications and cut exceptionally precise, clean-edged holes in wood.

Leo Z. ★★★★★

Bored a few shelf-pin holes in oak and this thing sliced through without a hint of tear-out, way smoother than the paddle bits I used for years. Being ground from one solid piece of heat-treated steel really shows, it barely warmed up after a dozen holes.

Isabella ★★★★★

The cut on this bit is unbelievably clean, with barely any tear-out on the edge even in plywood. Being ground from one solid piece of steel really shows in how it handles without any wobble.

Lily X. ★★★★★

Bored a clean 1" hole through oak for a door latch and the cut came out glassy smooth with barely any tear-out. Being ground from one solid piece of steel, it felt solid in the drill press with zero wobble. Made in the USA was a nice bonus too.
