1/4" FORSTNER BIT

Benchmark Abrasives 1/4" Forstner Bits are MADE IN USA.  Precision ground from one solid piece of heat-treated, heavy duty carbon steel, these bits can drill flat bottomed holes without splintering and are ideal for making holes in plywood and MDF board. This drill bit can create the pocket and grommet holes, countersinking screws, and drilling out knots in the wood. It features a sharp center spur that accurately locates the center of the hole.  The double cavity efficiently removed chips, debris, plugs and reduces heat.

Forstner Bits are an important tool for many hardware installations where a specific depth of the hole is required. The Forstner bit is guided by the wide outside rim of the bit whereas the drill bits are guided by the tip. These bits are the perfect choice to produce flat bottomed holes. It can drill a flat-bottomed hole, making them a necessary tool for many hardware installations where a precise depth of mortise is required. They are optimized for woodworking applications and cut exceptionally precise, clean-edged holes in wood.

Edward ★★★★★

Finally a bit that doesn't waver on the drill press — the single-piece steel construction feels rock solid. My cabinet hinge holes came out perfectly clean on the first try, no tear-out at all.

Elizabeth ★★★★★

Used it to clean up some loose hinge holes and the precision-ground tip cut through oak like butter. The heat-treated steel definitely feels solid and held up to some tight corner work without any wobble.

Charlotte ★★★★★

I was really impressed with how cleanly this bit cut through hard maple - the heat-treated steel held up without any wobble during drilling. It's nice to have a precision tool that actually feels solid in the hand.
